Survivorship happens one victory at a time!

Dear Eli,

With the mail strike in full force, we know email is a little informal, but we did not want to miss thanking our most dedicated sponsors.   I cannot begin to thank you enough for Silver Scissors’ generous support to the 13^th edition of the Alterna Do It For Dad! Family Run and Walk.  We had 2,166 participants in four different events and we raised over half a million dollars for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. These funds remain in our community for research into men’s cancers and a portion of the funds will go towards the purchase of the da Vinci Surgical System at the Ottawa Hospital. This amazing robotic surgery system will have very positive effects in our community by minimizing surgeries, reducing recovery times and shortening hospital stays.

Your sponsorship demonstrates how much you value the work of the Cancer Foundation and has contributed to the success of this year’s event in a significant way.  We simply could not have done this without you. I hope we can continue to count on your amazing support and look forward to your participation again next year as we continue to make survivorship happen — one victory at a time.
